Accessories for Signal Output Wrench
Model | Item # |
Signal Delay Unit | 20-C12870 |
Power Supply for Signal Delay | 020618 |
The Signal Output wrenches contain an internal micro-switch rated at 100 mA at 30V d.c. max., 100ľA 50Mv d.c min. When the wrench is operated the switch is designed to close, or make, thus completing an electrical circuit.
The length of time
that the electrical circuit is operable is dependent on the time the MTBN Signal Output wrench is held in the "broken" position or, in the case of the TSN Signal Output wrench, the circuit life is very short, typically 100 micro-seconds, due to the cam-over action of the tool.
Experience has shown that some equipment intended to be activated by the tool switch cannot capture the signal and requires a circuit of longer duration, typically 1 second.
The SDU (Signal Delay
Unit) allows for a signal of variable duration and also prevents multiple signals if the tool operated successively very quickly
The compact SDU is housed in a wall mountable box and requires either four AA batteries (not supplied) or an external power supply (not supplied). There are three indicator LEDs that allows operators to monitor the signal.
LEDs
Red - This illuminates when the switch in the torque tool is closed.
Green - This illuminates while the SDU is providing a circuit for the external equipment.
Yellow - This illuminates as a low battery warning. It will start to flash during and immediately
after operation of the SDU if the battery is low.
External Power Supply Requirements
Voltage:6V d.c. regulated
Connector:2.1 mm Jack
Power Jack:Center Pin Positive, Outside Negative
