The smart screwdriver system provides capabilities to record and store the torque & fastening data. A single DC control system replaces up to 15 power tools. The electric screwdriver system includes free product software - no annual licensing required—savings of $2K. Achieve a robust manufacturing process using this intelligent electric screwdriver system.

Accessories

Set-Up:

  • Requires ECTD Controller.
  • Drive Adapter: This adapter changes the bit drive socket configuration from a ¼” drive to a 4mm HIOS drive or vice versa.
  • I/O Cable for connecting the ECTD Controller to the 44P I/O Wiring Box device.

Error-Proofing & Process Improvement:

  • Bit Socket Tray: An error-proofing solution minimizes the risk of errors by automatically selecting the correct torque according to the socket or bit selected. It connects to the MDC controller. It will improve productivity and reduce operator errors. Saves downtime by automatically changing program settings for multiple fastening strategies.
  • Position Control Torque Arms: Equipped with position encoders, the position control torque arm is an error-proofing system that detects and eliminates costly screw-fastening errors during the assembly process. The poka-yoke system reduces the risks of improperly fastening screws, ensuring that every screw is correctly tightened in the correct sequence.
  • Screw Presenter: Deliver up to two screws per second to a fixed point where a human or robotic operator picks them up, cutting production time in half.
  • Mag-O-Nets: Magnetize a bit by sliding the Mag-O-Net onto the bit—commonly used with a screw presenter.
  • Vacuum Adapter: The kit is mounted on an electric screwdriver with a suction head that holds the screw on the bit, enabling the operator to pick it up with the tool. This effective, time-saving device works with most fasteners—commonly used with a screw presenter.

Ergonomics:

  • Tool Balancers: Provides easy handling for operators that work with power tools for long, continuous hours. A balancer enables a tool to be positioned over the workstation and helps workers avoid fatigue which can lead to low productivity, mistakes, and injuries.
  • Ergonomic Torque Arms: Providing ergonomic solutions for your assembly line workers lessens fatigue, prevents injuries, and boosts productivity. Torque arm absorbs the torque reaction generated by a power tool. Mountz offers various arm configurations for flexible and mobile workstation designs. The ergonomic torque arms improve employee safety.
  • Tool Stand: Prevent damage to power tools from dropping. Convenient tool positioning - adjust both vertically and horizontally.

Service & Calibration:

  • Torque Analyzers & Sensors: If torque tools slip out of calibration, that could impact the quality of your products. Having an accurate way to test calibration onsite regularly is a great way to reduce risk. With Mountz torque analyzers and sensors, you can test tools before they go into service daily or weekly.
  • Run-Down Adapters: It is used when testing power tools with a torque analyzer or sensor. The run-down adapter (RDA) is designed to provide consistent and reliable torque readings for power-driven torque control tools. An RDA reduces the impact and irregular peaks that cause poor repeatability. The device is mounted in-line between the tool drive and the transducer.
  • Prepaid Calibration Vouchers: Book service and maintenance in advance to ensure your tools are always in top condition and ready to use. Add this service to any tooling purchase.

    ECTD Controller:

    • Fully programmable via the touch screen
    • Digital I/O signals for interfacing with a machine & PLC interface for line control monitoring techniques.
    • Program up to 15 presets and 15 models, consisting of up to 20 steps for each model.
    • Collect and save all fastening data on SD memory card.
    • ECTD-5000 Controller provides fastening torque data analysis (Standard Deviation, Mean, Average, CP, CPK ).

    Error-Proofing:

    • Error-proof the fastening process and eliminate manufacturing risks and prevent product defects.
    • The EZ-Glider position control torque arm is an error-proofing system that detects and eliminates costly screw-fastening errors and ensures that every screw is correctly tightened in the correct sequence. Paired with ECT smart screwdrivers, the torque arm adds an extra layer of error-proofing to the fastening process.

    Process Optimization:

    • Achieve multiple fastening tasks with one screwdriver system. A single fastening system can replace up to 15 power tools.
    • Digital I/O allows interfacing with a machine & PLC interface for line control monitoring techniques.
    • Programmable fastening sequences and workflows. Create standardized fastening workflows. Program up to 15 presets and 15 models, consisting of up to 20 steps for each model.
    • The built-in screw counting function ensures that all screws are accounted for during the assembly process.
    • Operational for thread tapping and prevailing torque applications.
    • The push-to-start tool starts when the operator applies light downward pressure on the driver's nose. The driver will automatically stop when the preset torque has been reached.
    • The quick initiation mechanism of these tools allows for faster cycle times, allowing tasks to be completed more rapidly than with traditional tools. This speed advantage can save time, especially in high-volume production environments.

    Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Data collection - record and store torque and fastening data.
    • Collect and store essential quality data in a repository for data analytics, regulatory compliance, and traceability.
    • Transducerized Tool - traceability, superior accuracy, and precision. The transducer continuously measures torque in real-time and feeds data into the system.

    Ergonomics:

    • The ergonomic action minimizes strain on the hand and wrist, making it easier to use the tool for extended periods.

    Mountz Quality Standards:

    • Low maintenance with an extended life cycle.
    • Swiss DC servo motor provides precise, accurate, and repeatable torque control.
    • Clean room compliant (ISO14644-1 2015 Class 5)
    • Free product software — no annual licensing required — savings of $2K.
