Job Opening: Manufacturing Engineer (USA - San Jose, California)

Currently, there is an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer based in our San Jose, CA headquarters. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is committed to safety and has a passion for process improvement and quality. You are excellent in the design and analysis of workflow and you understand how to work up and down the supply chain to achieve results. The employee reports to the Manufacturing & Quality Manager.

Job Summary:

  • The Manufacturing Engineer supports the production department to ensure that the quality, cost, and delivery requirements are continually met and improved. The position interfaces greatly with Product Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Departments.
  • The position requires a strong hands-on approach and Quality Management System (QMS) continuous improvement mentality. The Manufacturing Engineer will use their industrial, mechanical and electrical expertise to develop, document, and train the production department to ensure efficient production workflow. The position will be responsible for bringing products out of engineering and into production in a timely and efficient manner.
  • The position requires support to the Quality and Supplier Chain Processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Supports and transitions new products from design into production.
  • Coordinates with the Engineering team in developing, documenting, and training on manufacturing procedures and instructions for in-house designed products.
  • Employs Engineering knowledge to a low-volume, high-mix environment that we have in order to shorten design to manufacturability cycle.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Creates assembly instructions, procedures, bills of materials, routings, etc. of products
  • Assists in preparing project documentation to conform to ISO regulations with regards to Mountz Design Phase Control procedures.
  • Estimates and provides information to Management regarding manufacturing capabilities, manufacturing staffing, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes for Management decisions.
  • Maintains and supports the manufacturing assembly lines and implements new procedures in concurrence with
  • Management to improve current processes.
  • Performs assigned responsibilities in conformance to ISO procedures and supports the organization in meeting quality objectives and participates in Mountz QMS.
  • Supports and participates in the company's health and safety program.
  • Responsible for completing surveys and compliance requirements from customers (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc.);
  • Utilizes statistical tools to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Designs and implements mistake proofing devices in the manufacturing process.
  • Supports the Quality and External Provision Process.

Qualifications:

  • Industrial, Manufacturing or Process Engineering Degree or equivalent and a min. of 2 - 3 years exp. On a manufacturing / mechanical environment.
  • Strong background with manufacturing processes (machining, molding, stamping and forming) and geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Solidworks knowledge
  • Knowledge of documentation control
  • Strong mathematical skills;
  • Detail-oriented; excellent organizational, time management & communication skills;
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma background preferred;
  • Knowledge on ESD control and ISO preferred
  • Teamplayer

Job Opening: Stockroom Clerk (USA - San Jose, California)

Currently, there is an opening for a Stockroom Clerk based in our San Jose, CA headquarters. We are seeking a hard-working, meticulous, self-driven individual who is committed to quality and accuracy. You have a keen eye and a penchant for order and organization. The successful candidate will be a part of our Manufacturing Team and will play a critical role in the day-to-day implementation of our Quality Management System. You are being recruited to make up a BEST IN CLASS team that will dominate the industry with its high quality, innovative products.

The employee reports to the Production Supervisor.

Job Summary:

  • Employee will be performing quality assurance inspection of components and finished products and organizes stockroom for Manufacturing inventory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Records receipt of components and acknowledgement of services into the system and allocates them to work orders;
  • Prints work order kit lists and kits work orders to stage on manufacturing floor;
  • Conducting incoming quality inspection of Manufacturing components to controlled engineering prints; initiates Nonconforming Product Reports (NMR), as required.
  • Conducting final quality inspection of manufacturing assemblies to engineering prints and final quality checklists; initiates Nonconforming Product Reports (NMR), as required.
  • Processes work orders to transfer into finished good inventory;
  • Conducts regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory level; responsible for proper storage and handling of materials and components; responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and organized Manufacturing stock room.
  • Conducts all listed tasks/responsibilities keeping always in mind the Manufacturing and Materials
  • Department Objectives and the continual improvement of Mountz's Quality Management System.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree
  • At least two years of related experience in such core areas as:
  • Quality Inspection (use of calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks & pin gauge)
  • Materials Handling
  • Inventory Control
  • Manufacturing / Production
  • Mechanical / technical aptitude
  • Understanding of manufacturing process
  • Commitment to Quality standards and diligent execution thereof
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic engineering prints and diagrams
  • Able and willing to cross train in other areas such as Machine Shop, Shipping and Receiving and Assembly

Job Summary:

  • Prepares items for shipment and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments..

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Compares info on counts, weights or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Packages items into boxes or containers for domestic and international shipments
  • Stamps, stencils or puts identifying info and shipping instructions into crates or containers
  • Ensures that shipping addresses and designated freight account info are correctly entered
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage , shipping labels and identifying marks on boxes
  • Bills or invoices upon fulfillment
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages
  • Operates forklift to move or transfer items
  • Drives company vehicle to perform routine tasks including but not limited to mail run, bank runs, pick-ups / deliveries
  • Performs assigned responsibilities in conformance with ISO procedures and recommends improvements to procedures and work instructions
  • Cross trains with warehouse staff to perform item receipt, item fulfillment and cycle counting.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree; at least two years of related experience and/or training
  • Forklift safety operation certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Team player; strong organizational skills
  • Familiar with INCOTERM and harmonized Tarriff codes
  • Knowledge of or experience with FedEx and UPS software
  • Regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds
